Vagabond Vistas was born out of David Simchock's love of photography and his passion for wandering the planet.  It should come as no surprise that "travel photography" is first and foremost within his professional ambitions.

His interests and skill-sets, however, go well beyond this facet of the art and he offers a wide range of services.  Examples of David's diverse portfolio can be found on the Gallery pages of this website.

5. MUSIC & FESTIVALS

A perfect compliment to his creative repertoire, David has photographed such world-famous artists as B.B. King and Pavarotti.  David is actively seeking to expand his "travel" work into the concert / festival market segment throughout the world.  He is also available for commercial / PR photography for bands, singer-songwriters and other performing artists.  Click here for Music & Festivals Portfolio.

6. PHOTOJOURNALISM

As David's workflow is 100% digital, he is capable of working as a freelance "stringer" photojournalist, on-call in the Tri-State area or throughout the world.  His world-travel plans can be found on the Travel Plans page of this site.  In the event that David's itinerary matches that of your publication's geographic photo needs, please contact him to discuss the details of your objectives.

7. PORTRAITURE & HEADSHOTS

David's clear strength in street portraiture during his travels has led him naturally down the path of offering a location portraiture service, namely, Vagabond Portraits.  Details of this special service can be found on the Services:  Portraiture page.  David's portraits and headshots are far from a classic "studio" pose with a standard back-drop.  You pick the location, he'll meet you there.  Click here for Portraits Portfolio.

8. EVENTS

When he is not on the road, David is available for local events in the Tri-State area.  His photojournalistic style lends itself well to those who are looking for a "candid" look to their corporate event, children's party or small wedding.  Of course, David is willing to travel to any geographic location, should your event take place outside of his locale.  Click here for Events Portfolio.

9. COMMERCIAL - INDUSTRIAL

David's fourteen years of working as an engineer in the industrial and corporate world has given him a rather unusual zone of comfort for a travel photographer.  Whether it be a power generating station, water treatment plant or other industrial setting, David will consider specific commercial photography projects that demand a high quality product, but without the need to "over-produce" the shoot beyond the client's end-use requirements.  Click here for Commercial Portfolio.

10. COMMERCIAL - ARCHITECTURAL

Building on his commercial photography experience in industry, David is also proficient in producing high-quality "interior" and "exterior" architectural images, whether it be cabanas on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica or affordable housing units in Lambertville, New Jersey.  David's expertise in "keeping things simple" with respect to lighting allows him to produce a visually-inviting package to fit nearly any budget.  Click here for Commercial Portfolio
